Your saved application form may be out of date

Preparing a move often means collecting paperwork over several months. If you saved an immigration form earlier in the process, check it before submitting: the Migration Department accepts only its revised forms from 2 April 2026.

The department announced the revision on 11 March 2026. A form downloaded before then may no longer be the version you need, even if the rest of your paperwork is ready.

A quick check that can save extra paperwork

Find the current application materials for your category on the Migration Department’s website. Read the supporting-document instructions too, rather than checking only the form.

  • Download a fresh copy of the correct form from the official source.
  • Check the supporting-document instructions for that application.
  • If an adviser is filing for you, confirm they are using the revised version.

New forms are not a new residency route

This announcement concerns application documents. It does not, by itself, establish a change to eligibility for every immigration category. Your nationality, purpose of stay and chosen application route still determine which requirements you need to meet.
