The 2026 tax brackets
Only the income in each band is taxed at that rate
Cyprus personal income tax is progressive. Your highest marginal rate does not apply to your whole income; your effective rate is total income tax divided by the income entered.
| Annual taxable income | Marginal tax rate |
|---|---|
| Up to €22,000 | 0% |
| €22,001 – €32,000 | 20% |
| €32,001 – €42,000 | 25% |
| €42,001 – €72,000 | 30% |
| Over €72,000 | 35% |
An example: €60,000 a year
The first €22,000 produces no income tax. The next €10,000 produces €2,000 at 20%, the following €10,000 produces €2,500 at 25%, and the remaining €18,000 produces €5,400 at 30%.
That totals €9,900 income tax, an effective rate of 16.5%. Income after income tax alone is €50,100 a year, or €4,175 a month, before contributions and other deductions.

Your actual take-home income may be different
Contributions and deductions
Employee social insurance, GESY, approved pension contributions and other allowable deductions can change taxable income and take-home pay. This calculator does not apply them, or the 2026 family, housing and other personal deductions.
New-resident exemptions
Some people taking up employment in Cyprus qualify for relief, including a 50% employment-income exemption subject to conditions. It is not automatic and is not applied here.
Income type and residence
This is a standard-band illustration, not a full tax return. Dividends, interest, foreign pensions, business expenses, foreign tax credits and treaty rules may need different treatment.
Official sources and calculation notes
Bands checked on 23 October 2026 against Part C of the Cyprus Tax Department’s official 2026 TD59 form. Income tax is rounded to the nearest cent; monthly net is rounded after dividing annual net by 12.
General information only, not personalised tax, legal or financial advice. Navigate Cyprus is not a tax adviser. Confirm your position with a licensed Cyprus tax professional before acting; your residence, income sources, deductions, exemptions and circumstances determine your actual liability.
