Who this concerns
Not everyone in Cyprus has to file a 2025 return. For the 2025 tax year, the requirement applies to individuals — employees, pensioners and the self-employed — whose gross income for 2025 was more than €19,500. If your income was below that, you are not required to file, although you can choose to submit a return voluntarily.
The wider filing rules that apply from the 2026 tax year, such as filing based on tax residency and age, do not apply to the 2025 return. They will matter for the return you file in 2027.
The 31 October deadline still stands
Under a Council of Ministers decree (K.D.P. 260/2026), the deadline for submitting the 2025 Individual Income Tax Return (without accounts) and paying any tax due is 31 October 2026.
The 30 November date does not replace this. It is a decision by the Tax Commissioner not to impose interest or monetary charges for returns filed and paid within the extra month.
What the 30 November grace period means
The Tax Department has announced that no interest or monetary charges will be imposed if the return is submitted and the corresponding taxes and contributions are paid by 30 November 2026. Both parts count: filing alone is not enough if a balance is still unpaid.
Self-employed people who must prepare audited accounts file a different return with its own deadline, so this grace period may not be the date that applies to them.
The possible €150 late-filing charge
Late submission of the 2025 individual income tax return can carry a €150 monetary charge, up from €100 in previous years. Interest and further charges can also apply to tax paid late. Filing and paying within the grace period avoids these.
Where the return is filed
Returns for tax years 2017 to 2025 are submitted online through TAXISnet, so your 2025 return goes there. From the 2026 tax year onwards, individual income tax returns move to the Tax Department's new Tax For All platform.
The Tax Department has also warned that, during the move to Tax For All, it may not be possible from 1 November 2026 to change a return from “Final Submission” back to “Temporary Receipt”. Check your figures carefully before you submit.
If you still haven't filed
There is no need to panic, but it is worth doing this in the next few weeks rather than at the last minute.
- Check whether your 2025 gross income was above €19,500.
- Log in to TAXISnet (or register if you haven't used it before) and review any pre-filled details.
- Double-check income, deductions and contributions before final submission.
- Pay any tax and contributions due by 30 November 2026.
- If your situation involves foreign income, self-employment or a tax exemption, speak to a licensed Cyprus tax professional.
The short version
If you need to file a 2025 return and haven't yet, you still have until 30 November 2026 to submit it on TAXISnet and pay what you owe without interest or charges. The formal deadline remains 31 October 2026.
